When is the best time to go backpacking in Ha Giang?

Determining which season is the most beautiful to go to Ha Giang is very difficult because it will be different depending on each person's feelings. However, Ha Giang's nature is truly favored by nature, depending on the season. At each moment, Ha Giang will have its beauty.

If you want to admire the brilliant picture of Ha Giang in the early days of the ripe rice season, then come to this land in September. This is the time when the terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi are ripe, with golden fields shimmering in the afternoon sun.

If you are a fan of Ha Giang Buckwheat Flowers, then don't forget to visit this place in October and November every year. This is the most beautiful time of the year for you to admire the dreamy, beautiful flower fields amidst the clouds in Ha Giang. You can go to Lung Cam Cultural Village, Thach Son Than-Quan Ba, the foot of Ma Pi Leng Pass, or the Lung Cu Flagpole to see the flowers.

If you want to enjoy the cold mountain atmosphere in the last days of the year, then come to Ha Giang in the days from December to the Lunar New Year. This is also the time when the fields of yellow mustard flowers begin to bloom, along with countless peach blossoms and plum blossoms that adorn the beauty of heaven and earth.

And if you visit here in the summer, don't forget to see the brilliant paintings of the pouring water season. And to capture this moment, you should come here from June to August. During this period, the terraced fields will turn into impressive giant mirrors.

Places not to be missed on your trip to go backpacking in Ha Giang by motorbike

Ma Pi Leng Pass

Recognized as one of the Four Great Passes of the Northern Region of our country, Ma Pi Leng Pass, although only 20 km long, has the most winding and majestic road. On the journey to conquer this 'difficult' pass, you will have to face consecutive bends and have to overcome roads with large slopes before reaching the highest point of the pass.

From here, you will have a clear view straight towards the emerald green Nho Que river crossing below, like a peach silk sheet. Standing from the highest point at Ma Pi Leng, you will see an impressive picture of Northeastern nature.

Khau Vai Love Market

As one of the 6 largest markets in Ha Giang, Khau Vai Love Market, also known as Phong Luu Love Market, is an interesting market. Here, trading is just a side thing. Most of the participants in this special market are couples who, for some reason, were unable to get married.

If you want to attend the Khau Vai love market, you should come to this borderland around the middle of the third lunar month each month. Normally, the market will open in the afternoon of the 26th day of the third lunar month, so you should pay attention to choosing the right time to go.

Lung Cu flagpole

Located right on top of Dragon Mountain at an altitude of about 1,700 meters above sea level, the Lung Cu Flagpole is considered a sacred mark in the northernmost part of our country. Standing from the highest point of the flagpole, you will breathe the airy air and feel the cool refreshment filling your chest.

From here, looking out into the distance, you will see seemingly endless mountain ranges and hills, or somewhere fields of flowers in bloom, full of life. All together, they painted a picture of lush, vibrant nature at the heart of the country.

Things to keep in mind when Kinh travels to Ha Giang by motorbike

  • The driver must have strong steering wheels, experience going downhill, high concentration ability, and be sure to be in control in all situations.
  • Bring a jacket because the weather in Ha Giang often drops too low at night
  • Limit drinking alcohol and beer when driving, especially at night, because the terrain in Ha Giang is relatively dangerous.
