1. Address and directions to Ve Chai Pagoda Dalat

Ve Chai Pagoda is located at 120 Tu Phuoc Street, Ward 11, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. Because it is located right in the city center, it is easy for visitors to find the temple and convenient to visit many other famous tourist destinations.

2. History of Ve Chai Linh Phuoc Pagoda

Linh Phuoc Pagoda started construction in 1949, in 1951, the pagoda was completed. However, due to many reasons of natural disasters and war, the pagoda no longer kept its status quo.

The 5th abbot named Thich Tam Vi is the main person responsible for designing and rebuilding the pagoda. In addition, it is impossible not to mention the contribution and enthusiasm of many Buddhist monks and nuns in all provinces and cities across the country. Over 30 years, Ve Chai Pagoda in Da Lat has become a famous spiritual place, attracting many domestic and international Buddhist followers.

3. Why is Ve Chai Pagoda named?

As the name suggests, Ve Chai Pagoda is made mainly from bottle mites. Pieces of glass from many old bottles are broken and decorated on the walls in the temple. Almost every corner of the temple has traces of ticks and bottles surrounding it.

1. Unique architectural style

The first special feature of Ve Chai Pagoda in Dalat lies in its unique and different architecture. Linh Phuoc Pagoda campus gathers many beautiful works and works of art. The dragon is very large, up to 49m long, so it takes a long time to complete. It is known that skilled artisans must use 12,000 beer bottles to attach the dragon's body. This can be seen as the most prominent symbol of Ve Chai Pagoda in Dalat. Come here, don't forget to take a photo to check in.

In addition, you can go to Gia Son Island, the Maitreya Buddha statue on the top. After taking pictures and visiting the area outside the temple, you will step into the main hall. This main hall is relatively large with a size of 22m x 33m compared to other temples in Vietnam.

The golden dragons make the space more solemn and sacred. The main hall of the temple is the place to worship 324 Bodhisattva Guan Yin statues. This statue has set a record as the tallest reinforced concrete statue in Vietnam with a height of 4.9m (including the lotus). Outside the magnificent golden card, in front is a bas-relief.

In addition to the delicately and vividly carved Bodhi Tho image, the architecture of Ve Chai Pagoda is also impressive in the booth with 108 statues of "Thien Thu Thien Nhan". The entire campus of Linh Phuoc Pagoda, inside and out, has bold images of dragons, phoenixes, and classical patterns of the eight tones, the four treasures, the four times, the four quarters.

The Sangha house - the living and resting place of the monks in the temple consists of 3 spacious floors. Tinh Duong is located at the top with a semicircular lotus pond. The room for them to stay is in the middle and ground floor areas. The temple also has a library and a living room in the middle of the monk's house. The water-painted relief and the tower of the Most Venerable Thuong Quang Ha make the space more dignified and lively.

2. 18 terrifying levels of hell

Going to the temple without visiting the 18 floors of hell is a big mistake. This is the place that attracts and makes the most curious tourists. Follow the small path leading down to the first floor, you will see an area displaying feng shui stones and antiquities of Vietnam. If you go deeper, there are more and more scary mysterious scenes.

Starting from the 2nd floor, you will officially enter the 18 floors of hell. As the name suggests, you have to go all 18 floors 300m long to get there. There are many creepy and scary shapes here. Even the king of Hell is carrying out the trial of those who did bad things while they were still alive.

18 levels of hell to teach people about the law of cause and effect, karma and direct people to do good things. The 7-storey tower is the outstanding work of Linh Phuoc pagoda with a height of 37m. The bell tower on the 2nd floor is recognized as the heaviest bell in Vietnam with a weight of 8.5 tons.

The pagoda is also famous for its realistic wax statue in every detail. Made entirely from wax, the image of the monk Minh Ha Duc meditating was performed by Thai artisans. This statue becomes the highlight of Linh Phuoc Pagoda.
